Minutes to PTC December 2019 Meeting

OTES PTC Meeting December 4, 2019 Welcome and Introductions Holiday Bazaar Update: 70 vendors. DOGS are planning on helping set up Friday evening and helping vendors Saturday morning. Tables rented from General Rental. Sign Up mostly full – still need a few volunteers to help with concessions in the afternoon. Map available for volunteers to help vendors find their designated location. 4th Grade Request (Todd Rand and Kerri Dexter): Maine’s 200th Birthday! Matt Dunlap will be a guest in the morning, to raise the Maine Bicentennial Flag. Would like to order bicentennial t-shirts for all 4th graders (maine200.org). Would like the PTC to support the cost of the t-shirts. Proposal to have the PTC pay for half of the cost of the t-shirts. Those in attendance voted to support half the cost of the t-shirts for 4th grade students and teachers. Maine State Museum now offers goodie-bags for $1 x 100 students = $100. Those in attendance voted to approve this request. $250 Honorarium to James Kaiser (National Park Travel Guides) who presents to the 4th grade every year. Those in attendance voted to provide the $250 honorarium. PTC Support for the Old Town Public Library after school bus: Approximately $1000 for the rest of the school year. Those in attendance voted to pay for the OT Public Library bus (@ $40/week) for the remainder of the school year. New financial process for PTC funds: fund distribution now has to go through the RSU #34 superintendent office. The group decided to look into other options about how to handle the funds (501c3?). OTES PTC will follow the current RSU #34 process until June and then revisit based on exploring alternate options. Book Fair: March 25th – April 1st Next meeting: January 8th, 2020 @ 6:00pm
